Finding medical support - whether that is from a doctor, a physical therapist or other experts - when living with Ehlers-Danlos syndrome and comorbid conditions is incredibly challenging. Hyp+Access, a non-profit dedicated to increasing access to care for people with connective tissue disorders is bound to change that with their new clinic Hyp+Care. Chronic Pain Partners’ Karina Sturm spoke with L and Audre, both directors at HypAccess, about their clinic, how it differs from other clinics specialized in EDS care and when they plan to open it.

With a promise of primary care without the gaslighting, Chronius offers high-touch, virtual-first care designed specifically for people with complex chronic illnesses. Many were accused of fabricating or exaggerating their symptoms, and 88% were explicitly told they were “making it up.” Other misdiagnoses included “attention seeking,” conversion disorder, “it’s all in your head,” and Munchausen syndrome by proxy.
